Matouš Pěruška

Matouš Pěruška started playing the violin at the age of five in the class of Prof. Harbi Shabua. He joined the class of prof. Ludmila Stětinová three years later and afterwards continued his studies under her guidance at the Prague Conservatory, which he graduated as a soloist performing Brahms violin concerto with the Prague Conservatory orchestra.

In 2012 he has started his university studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class of the renowned Prof. Leoš Čepický. During the 2014 – 2015 and 2016-2017 scholar years Matouš Pěruška became part of the Erasmus program by joining the Universität für Musik und darstelende Kunst in Vienna under the leadership of Prof. Jan Pospíchal – the Wiener Symphoniker’s concermaister.

Matouš Pěruška has also been part of the master courses of Wiener Philharmoniker in August 2013 and 2014 where he was twice chosen to perform as a soloist and as a member of a chamber group with the other successful participants in Musikverein in Vienna. He also participated in master classes of worldwide renowned professors as R. Davidovici, M. Ericsson, I. Ženatý, V. Hudeček, M. Frischenschlager, J. Pazdera, M. Šetena, P. Götzel, Hagai Shaham, Ray Chan and Ivri Gitlis.

Matouš Pěruška has participated in numerous national and international competitions. In May 2014 he won the sixth edition of “Premio Francesco Geminiani” international competition in Verona. In September 2015 was awarded 2nd prize and prize of the audience at the Brahms competition in Pörtschach. In May 2016 he became winner of the international competition “Paolo Serrao” in Italy. Most recently he became finalist at Prague Spring violin competition (May 2017).

For his extraordinary chamber music skills, he is often invited to participate in various chamber music concerts as a guest player. He is also constant member of chamber music groups – one of the most distinct formations is duet with cellist Kristina Vocetková.

Together they were awarded Zoltán Kodály prize in summer 2015 and they are holders of two prizes given by Bohuslav Martinů foundation. They are winners of many national as well as international competitions and perform regularly on stages across Europe. Some of their leaders in chamber music are Prof. P. Hůla, C. Onczay, and P. Schuhmayer.

Matouš Pěruška was an honored member of the Orchestral Academy of Czech Philharmonic Orchestra since 2012 until 2014.
